British Champion!!
July 6, 2015
So i became British Champion 2015. Absolutely chuffed to say that i British Champion, the day started very well, i entered the field after warming up well. The weather was fairly warm and dry, the forecast wasnt great, but thought we were going to be very lucky!
So we lined up for the cameras, (the usual routine) wave to the crowd whilst your name is announced on the commentary. The competition started, in my head i was expecting very good distances because everyone you speak to in the throwing world, that has thrown at Birmingham will tell you that its uphill and you lose distance there. Taking that into consideration, the competition started, i took the lead in the first round with a throw just under 18m.
The competition progressed, and after round 3 i was still leading, i was just concentrating on what i needed to do. Round 3 the order changes, so i was now last to throw in the round.
Round 4 begun and i got pushed down to 2nd place, and then the heavens opened, the rain was pouring, to accompany the Thunder and Lightening.
It came to the last round, and i then got pushed down to the Bronze medal Position, i entered the circle, with rain drops running down my face! Everything clicked at once and a big throw came out... A personal best... I had Won, my first British Senior Title!
