Hello again, Another new week, another new training phase and here we are for another blog!
I start my new weights programme tonight, I'm looking forward to a bit of change. Paul has been mixing a few things up, mainly to keep my body on its toes!
Paul has had the honour of upping the circuits, so we are now doing nearly double what we were doing this time last year, which is providing pretty succesful results so far!
Well what else has been happening...
I have been working hard with my brother for my dads family business. We are on roofing at the moment for some friends we have done alot of work for recently! (all well and good until you have to scale the ladders for the first time in the morning after one of coach Pauls sessions the night before!)
Being busy at work is making the time fly by at the moment, I mean we are already into November, and getting ready to eat as much turkey as possible!
Other things I have been up to... Well Paul and I have been for a weekend in Birmingham for the NCDP weekend with England Athletics. It's basically where all the coaches on the programme meet up, compare notes and try and move the standards forward! I'm not a coach, but I was invited along due to Paul being asked to do a presentation on myself, and to provide some demos on what we are working on.
I had a great weekend and it was good to be back at the Alexander Stadium for the first time since clinching the British title for the first time!
Last up I have been to another awards night. This time an award for people in the Hambleton District. It was a great evening with a great guest speaker, Chris Tomlinson! It made me realise how far I have come listening to his stories, but yet how far I still need to go before I get up to the next level. Although I never recieved an award, I had great pride in watching my local rugby team in which my brother used to captain take an award, the lads really did deserve it!
Anyway, I shall keep you posted, it's the City of York Awards night on Saturday. I am also still doing lots of filming with my GoPro and experimenting with videos for a video blog, so hopefully I will manage to get the first one done and then it will lead to many more after!
