I hope you all had a great Christmas and New Year celebrations with your nearest and dearest like i did!
I got well and truely spoilt this year not only with presents but the way the days worked meant that Christmas day landed on a rest day...Perfect!
So being off work over the festive period has enabled me to train alot more and alot harder. It has allowed me to do 2 sessions in a day rather than just 1 and also have alot more time to prepare more time consuming foods (christmas chocolates not included).
I feel we have made alot of steps in the right direction with the technical side of the throw, enabling me to get a more powerful finish on the throw!
Weights change again next week, im excited for the few changes, which will be more specific to my throwing, and in turn this should enable me to start and gain distance on my throws. My strength and flexability has improved this winter so far. My fitness is the best its been since iv been throwing the shot, but iv also put on 5 KG on my body weight. This will produce more weight and power behing the ball whilst throwing, and so far so good!
I am just planning my first few competitions which i hope to finalise in the next week or so, then i can look forward to competing again! This year i am looking to branch out my competitions into Europe, i competed a few times in 2015 in Europe and i really feel that this will improve my experience and distance on my throw! Throwing against new competitors is a great way to improve.
I am looking forward to the fresh challenges and the new goals set for 2016, i cant wait to make it more succesful than 2015.
Thanks again for reading and all the best for 2016, i hope you continue to follow my progress and see what all I achieve.
